Answer: Retained products of conception

We have longitudinal views of the uterus both with an without Doppler. There is a thickened endometrial stripe (ie residual material in the canal) that shows Doppler blood flow. In the setting of recent abortion, findings are consistent with retained products of conception (make sure the blood flow is actually within the retained products and not just within the myometrium). If no blood flow internally it suggests simple retained clot.
