Answer: Jones fracture + Avulsion fracture (a little subtle but see below)

I really like the picture above because it summarizes all the fractures in this location. The key is: Does it involve metatarsal-metatarsal joint? If yes, it’s a Jones fracture (green). Avulsive fractures only involve the tarsometatarsal joint (pink)

Sometimes the avulsive fractures have been called “pseudoJones fractures” but even I find that a tad misleading. So I use avulsive and Jones when appropriate.
